@aguillossou Emotion. I mean, I think you do an amazing job evoking emotion with your projects. Everything you just said, choreography, pacing, music...all that plays into it...the visuals...it all connects. One of the most powerful strengths of a filmmaker, whether it be narrative, documentary, etc...is the ability to connect the viewer with their story. You are very good at doing that, Alexandra.
At the center of everything we experience is a story. Stories are always evolving. The only beginning and end to a story is the one that is told or the one we perceive.
Glad you made it back @olsburger! Meet @aguillossou! What are your thoughts on what we are talking about?Â

@aguillossou I love that because we are exploring a new medium by innovating the traditional with the new and what mobile phone cameras lend to the process of storytelling through film. Right?

@aguillossou Alex, do you have a website, or youtube page? Sorry, I'm not sure I've seen any of your work... I've seen a trailer to one of your films, but it was a while ago...
When you share a link here...you cannot see the text (dark mode) but it works. FYI.Â

yeah. But I'm so all over the place. I seriously love my Leica lenses so I also shoot on an old Canon DSLR. A lot of the dance stuff I film is a combination of iPhone and Canon. But I love the ability of being able to use both and not being held hostage to either one. They work so well together.
@olsburger The Deepest Cut is a real tear jerker. Alexandra was in San Diego for our film festival, her film featured in the Community Stories category and wow, she made everyone cry during her presentation. It's won many awards.Â

@Aaron was also there...he knows I am not exaggerating. 😉

Ross Perkins is working right now but he's been popping in and out just trying to follow the Q&A. Steve could not make it today.Â

@Aaron don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to receive 50K to make a movie. I'm working on a series called "Project Change" which focuses on local artists and using their art as their voice. It'd be really nice to pay them something. So, yeah. Money would be nice. But it's still not necessary.
@Aaron Yeah...you know I don't think you need $50,000 to make a film no matter the camera. There are many factors that play into the production and marketing of a film that can drive the expenses. So it depends. But most definitely...for a smartphone film...probably not.Â

@aguillossou Totally...gotta pay your team. The talent and crew are worthy.

I am always amused with the backstory to each film. They don't just grow on trees, I mean they always stem from something and I find it very interesting...the root of the stories filmmakers turn into films.Â
